Parish Picnic, September 9, 2007
Do you remember reading the following announcement in your church bulletin: "Our Parish Picnic will be held at the Shenandoah County Park on Sunday, September 9th from 1-3 PM." A lot of you did read and made plans to attend but unfortunately, many didn't, here is a snippet of what you missed: great hot dogs, hamburgers, lemonade, ice tea, all kinds of secret recipes from those who did come, horse and pony rides, games for the kids (some of us kids aren't too young anymore), and the most important activity of all, a fun afternoon of mixing with some of Christ's greatest creations. The Knights of Columbus cooked up some of the greatest burgers and dogs with all the fixings and mother nature held up her end of the deal and didn't supply us with a downpour. The couple who came the most distance to attend, came from the land down under, Australia. John and Helen Fitzgerald were house guests of Lee and Rita Dieter. Ted and Doris O'Donnell were there with a contingent of the Youth Group from the church and they ate their share of the goodness along with everyone else. All in all, it was a great day to relax and enjoy friends and get to know a little better, those who we don't see as often as we would like. Those of you who didn't attend, pay a little more attention to the bulletin next time and plan your priorities right... As you can see by the photos, everyone did have a great day...
